Some Important Duas from Holy Quran- Every Muslim Should Know

Allah (SWT) is the one only who has the power to control and each and everything in our lives. Being a Muslim we have different form of worshiping Allah (SWT) and making Dua is one of the forms of worship and connecting with Almighty Allah. To seek mercy and blessings of Allah (SWT), we should choose the path of righteousness and make Dua which can be done anywhere anytime. There are many Duas embedded in the Quran which can be used not only to make our faith stronger but also help us enjoy the blessings and mercy of Allah (SWT). There are many Quranic Duas which are made by our beloved Prophets when they prayed to Almighty Allah. We should also strive to make these Duas part of our prayers so that not only we can seek mercy of Allah (SWT) but also ensure that we are showered by His blessings. According to a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H):  

“Verily your Lord is Generous and Shy. If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication) He becomes shy to return them empty.” (Tirmidhi)

Below mentioned are the few Duas from the Holy Quran which can transform not only our daily life but also our hereafter.

For Allah’s Mercy:

No matter how big or small our sins are but we should always seek Allah (SWT) mercy. Allah (SWT) is Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem and being a Muslim we should seek His refuge. We can recite this Dua and seek Allah’s mercy.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا

“Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.” (Quran, 18:10)

For Purification:

We are surrounded by the filth like vulgarity and nudity and interest in this era. Somehow all of us are the victims of these filthy things, so we should ask Allah to make us pure will help to eradicate the useless thoughts coming in our mind. Make this Dua from Allah (SWT):

We are surrounded by filth, vulgarity and nudity and interest in this era. One way or the other we have been exposed to such calamities and to some extent we are drawn to it. We should always seek Allah (SWT) mercy and make Dua to help us overcome and eradicate such filthy activities or thoughts and make this Dua:

رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الأبْرَارِ

Our Lord! Forgive us, then, our sins, and efface our bad deeds; and let us die the death of the truly virtuous! (Quran, 3:193)

For Strengthening your Imaan:

The world is full of temptations and it is the main purpose of a Muslim to become successful in the hereafter is to overcome these temptations and seek refuge in Allah (SWT) by strengthening our Imaan. The Dua mentioned in Quran in regards to strengthen our Iman is:

رَبَّنَا لاَ تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ

  [Who say], “Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.” (Quran, 3:8)

Asking Allah to Make You a Righteous Person:

It is the core of Islam to repent from wrong doings and walking the path of righteousness. We should always strive to make ourselves better by doing good deeds and seek Allah’s forgiveness. We can recite this Dua to seek guidance from Allah (SWT)

رَبَّنَا لاَ تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

     “Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people.” (Quran, 7:47)

 

For Good Spouse/Children:

Mostly people ask about “How they can get a good Husband or Wife” or anything that can make them conceive children. Quran has all the answers to their queries. For a good spouse and children recite this Dua:

We see many people asking this question “how they can find a good husband or wife to marry. Islam has all the answers. We should make the below mentioned Dua for this purpose:

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

“Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.” (Quran, 25:74)

For Easiness when facing Hardship:

Each and every individual person in this world go through difficult times throughout their life. We should recite the given below to seek Allah (SWT) guidance and get yourself out of the troubled times:

رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لاَ طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَآ أَنتَ مَوْلاَنَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Our Lord! Make us not bear burdens which we have no strength to bear! “And efface Thou our sins, and grant us forgiveness, and bestow Thy mercy upon us! Thou art our Lord Supreme: succor us, then, against people who deny the truth!” (Quran, 2:286)

Dua for Patience:

Allah love those who are patient and believe that everything is from Allah (SWT) so whatever the circumstances we should trust Allah (SWT) and remain patient. Muslims can recite the following Dua to become patient in life. Allah says in Quran:

 

“Allah is with the people who do Sabr”.

So always try to be patient and make this dua for patience:

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

  Our Lord! “Shower us with patience in adversity, and make firm our steps, and succor us against the people who deny the truth!” (Quran, 2:250)

Dua for Afterlife/Hereafter:

As a Muslim its is part of our faith to believe in the afterlife and death which is inevitable. The main reason we came to this world is to worship Allah and do good deeds and stay away from wrong doings. We should make the following Dua for hereafter from Allah Almighty.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

   “O our Sustainer! Grant us good in this world and good in the life to come, and keep us safe from suffering through the fire” (Quran, 2:201)

In short, making Dua in front of Allah Almighty more than often is one of the best ways of seeking His Mercy and Guidance. Therefore, in addition to praying after every prayer, a Muslim must supplicate to Allah more often especially in times of need.
